The Soaps

I like the definition of alchemy. As much as I do, I had a stamp created. Alchemy; a noun, the medieval forerunner of chemistry, based on the supposed transformation of matter. A seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination; soap in a nut shell! Pictured are the various soaps I create from plant based oils and butters and turn them into what you see pictured here, with a little help from H2O and sodium hydroxide. (After 24-48 hours the sodium hydroxide evaporates from the soap). The H20 can be reduced and I may add Goat Milk, or Coconut Milk, or I may completely substitute out the H20 for Aloe Vera Juice. There are so many options when creating a luxuriously nourishing bar of soap.

With the creative design process, to deciding on the ingredients I will use, to then making soap, is an extremely satisfying event. As you can see from the pictures on this page, there is something pretty incredible about wet soap. So much so, soapers will post their pictures on Wednesdays dubbed “Wet Soap Wednesday” on social media.

In addition to cold process (CP) and melt & pour (MP), I also make rebatch soap. The soaps labeled as rebatch mean the soap was created from using CP soap which was previously cured and then shaved down into little pieces. Those soap shavings are then slowly heated, H2O or Aloe Vera Juice is added, and other addiditve I see fit, such as coconut milk. Coconut milk powder is full of vitamins C, E, B1, B3, B5, and B6, along with potassium and folate. The lauric acid of coconut milk also gives the bar a luxurious and fluffy lather. I can also add mica or other natural colorants, and EO’s or FO’s for a scent. Rebatch soap has a more rustic appearance than CP. I blend my rebatch with a soap dedicated blender to give it a whipped and fluffy appearance. With rebatch I have piped the tops, just like you would with frosting a cake, to create a more pleasing top appearance.

I have created multiple custom orders. I have worked with expectant mother’s to create the perfect bar for their baby shower. I have worked with a realtor to create the perfect bar for her clients. I also work with store owners to create the perfect display of my soaps in their shops for sale.

Also pictured are the displays I use in stores and at farmers markets I attend. The soaps are displayed as a potential sample. The displays may be created with any combinations of soap.
